Mwagusi Safari Camp was the first tented camp built in heart Ruaha Natioanl Park is situated on the banks of the Mwagusi River in Southern Tanzania. Owned by Chris Fox the camp is an expression of the love and passion he has for the of the bush and its wildlife. Chris Fox was born in Tanzania and spent his holidays camping in this area before Ruaha became a National Park.

Initially started as a temporary fly camp. Mwagusi was build in 1987 and has grown and developed over the years into a uniquely designed camp with a homely and peaceful ambience. Each element of the camp has been careful thought out and designed to blend into the natural environment.

The camp offers a unique and comfortable tented camp experience. Each of the 13 Bandas ( meaning temporary shelter ) consists of a large spacious tent, sheltered by cooling thatch roof and set on a polished red floor.

Each Banda has en-suite bathroom with hot and cold water, flush toilet, shower, shelves, large mirror.

The Bandas are build into the sandy banks of the Mwagusi River providing their own private secluded views. Each has its own private large covered verandah, with comfortable cushions and hammock for relaxing and soaking in the bush air.
