Air France reduces economy-class baggage allowance

Effective October 30, 2018, Air France, KLM and Joon will change their baggage policy for flights to and from South Africa to Europe in the economy cabin.

Economy class passengers will now only be allowed one piece of luggage with a maximum weight of 23kg. All tickets issued before October 30, will still be entitled to the two-piece baggage allowance. The checked baggage allowance in premium economy, business class and first class are unchanged.

Passengers in premium economy and business class will still have a two-piece luggage limit, and passengers in first class are allowed three pieces, each weighing 23kg, 32kg and 32kg respectively.

All passengers on the Explorer Flying Blue loyalty programme, regardless of cabin class, receive a 10% discount on the first bag in excess of their allowance. All other additional luggage for Gold, Silver and Platinum members in premium economy, business class and first class will be subject to a 23kg, and 32kg limit.
