Somalisa Acacia has recently under gone a complete rebuild and now comprises of 2 Family Units with inter-leading walkways between the parents and children’s rooms which are both en-suite, as well as 2 standard Sail Tents. Each tent includes gauze sliding doors, a glass wood-burner fireplace for the cold winter nights, and an overhead fan for the hot summer days, as well as en suite bathroom facilities including flush toilets, an indoor and outdoor shower, as well as a copper slipper-style bathtub. All the simple but luxurious tents are on slightly raised decks, under the dappled canopy of a grove of Acacias on the western side of Somalisa.

The camp enjoys its own private views of a small water hole, frequented by large herds of big game including buffalo, elephant, kudu, zebra, giraffe and lion. A small splash pool allows you to cool off during the heat of the day. Activities on offer are game drives and walking excursions with the camp’s professional guides. Most of the activities are in the Somalisa private concession but with easy access to other parts of Hwange National Park.

On special request Somalisa Acacia can be booked in conjunction with Somalisa Camp to cater for larger groups of up to 20 people. A private guide and tour leader facility is available on special request.

Each room has a Balcony / Deck ensuite lounge area, Shower, Tea and Coffee making facility, Bath, Fan, Fireplace, laundry service, mosquito nets and outdoor shower.

Activities include game drives (day and night) by qualified and passionate guides who will share their knowledge and love of the bush with you.

The open land cruisers will accommodate six passengers on tiered seating so that views are not blocked and photographic opportunities are enhanced. Each of our vehicles are fitted with permanent canvas roofing to protect you from the varying weather elements, whilst still allowing an optimised up close and personal experience of wildlife.
Guests who have booked a private vehicle can request for the roofing to be removed in advance of their safari.

Activities include guided walks lead by qualified guides.

Hwange National Park is actually known to be one of the highest diversities of wildlife and bird-life species more than any other National Park in Southern Africa.
Here are up to over 470 birdlife species in the area. Evening Drives on our Private Concession within the Hwange National Park. The camp also organises Cultural visits to The African Bush Camps Foundation which is committed to empowering rural communities. They partner with communities on the outskirts of wildlife areas to become economically sustainable whilst ensuring that natural resources are protected and cared for. They also support local schools and run education programmes for children in communities.
